About A Green-Eyed Gal

I am a Christian, broken and imperfect, yet saved by the Grace of God and His son, Jesus Christ. I strive to keep my life more focused on Him. I am a (Military) Wife! I am devoted to supporting my LOVE in all that he does and desires to do. (and still have loves, interests, and goals of my own.) I am a Mom! I struggle every second to raise my son to be the person he needs to be. I am old-fashioned, and conservative, and the preservation of his morals, character, and soul are my utmost concern. I am a Sister, a Daughter, a friend, a neighbor, a Veteran, a traveler, a Republican, part of the NRA, a photographer, a painter, a reader, a crafter, my own best friend, my own worst enemy, eclectic, ugly sometimes, beautiful others. I love life. I see God in every part of our life. I am unable to let the world change me. Everything you find on these pages, are reflections of things that are important to me. Enjoy!

Summer in Review

Where has this summer gone?  September is upon us, and I find myself looking back over the past few months with a deep sigh.  I have been outrageously busy and time has flown by!  Now here I am on the cusp of sending my 1st grader off to school, letting someone else teach him this year, so that I can focus on my own schooling.  I am excited, and yet, I am sad.  I am excited because this is a really great school.  I am sad because I so enjoy teaching the kiddo myself.  I will miss those ah-ha moments.  I will miss seeing the light click as something suddenly makes sense.  I will miss hearing him read his books out loud, or singing them... haha!  But I am so eager to see what he learns, to see him grow both up and outward with the perspective of another teacher, and the perspectives of his classmates.

I threw alot of stuff into this summer.  I jumped into school myself, and have been hard at it ever since.  On top of a full load, I somehow managed a trip to Florida to see my side of the family, a camping trip with my kiddo, hubby, and sister-in-law's family, a trip to Oklahoma, and little day trips around town for the kiddo and I.  Considering that I am easily overwhelmed, I think I have done rather well this summer.

And now... some pics!  I hope you all have had a pleasant summer as well! I hope that the transitions within your families- with kids starting school for the first time, or kids that are transitioning to new schools and colleges, with moves for you military families, and just with life in general- have gone well.

God bless you all!

Hi, I have just read with interest, your blog regarding health care reform in your country. I am an Australian and we have free health vare provide by the government called Medicare but we still have the choice to belong to a health fund that then guarantees us having ouur choice of doctor etc. I am not sure why there is such an outcry from some of your fellow citizens regarding the changes proposed.
My daughter married a Texan and moved to Stanford TX.

Hi, it is me again. To continue the story.... I got quite ill on the plane over and had to be hospitalised in San Fransico. If I had not had travel insurance we would have had to sell our house to pay the bill of $250,000.
My thoughts are; if this is a what it costs to be in hospital for 5 days in America then, how do the poor cope? I had to buy medication also and paid $278. In my home country because of the health scheme it costs $28.95. I am not being critical of your system I am just intrigued as to why there is so much concern about Mr Obama's proposal. By the way my daughter no longer lives in Texas, she is back home with us after we found out her husband was a criminal.
