About A Green-Eyed Gal

I am a Christian, broken and imperfect, yet saved by the Grace of God and His son, Jesus Christ. I strive to keep my life more focused on Him. I am a (Military) Wife! I am devoted to supporting my LOVE in all that he does and desires to do. (and still have loves, interests, and goals of my own.) I am a Mom! I struggle every second to raise my son to be the person he needs to be. I am old-fashioned, and conservative, and the preservation of his morals, character, and soul are my utmost concern. I am a Sister, a Daughter, a friend, a neighbor, a Veteran, a traveler, a Republican, part of the NRA, a photographer, a painter, a reader, a crafter, my own best friend, my own worst enemy, eclectic, ugly sometimes, beautiful others. I love life. I see God in every part of our life. I am unable to let the world change me. Everything you find on these pages, are reflections of things that are important to me. Enjoy!

Easter Cross

DH actually gave me this idea for a craft when I complained that there are no Easter wreaths that depict the true meaning of Easter.  I had thought about making a circular wreath with lilies on it, but he mentioned using wire hangers and yarn, like some wreaths that his mom had made while he was growing up.

So I used two wire hangers.  I cut the hooks off and untwisted them with some wire cutters and pliers.  I then shaped them into a cross shape, one hanger overlapping the other.  I took yarn (I only used extra yarn that was not enough for blankets and scarves(which are the only things I have enough talent to crochet... LOL) and tied the cross pieces together and then wrapped the wires completely.
Once the wires were completely wrapped with yarn, I wrapped three strands of different colored yarns around my fingers four times and then tied the loops in the center.  Using the same string that I tied the loops with, I then fastened the resulting bow to the wire hanger.
Viola!!  My Easter "Wreath".
Happy Easter to you all!
